The organizers of the "350 Climate Protection Song World Cup 2009" – IAAI and 350.org would like to thank all participating musicians for responding so positively to our Call for Music 2009.

You have shown leadership regarding global social responsibility and you have made a great contribution to global climate protection efforts and global civil society reform with your means of artistic expression using the power of music.

We will keep all those who have registered at the voting page for receiveing the (IAAI) song world cup updates/newsletter about future developments. Discussions are under way with 350.org to have a second round of "The World Synchronized on 350" in 2010; further related initiatives that are udner currently under negaotiations are global challenges song competitions within the project initiative „initiative "GloBalkCan Youth Initiative – Promting Global Social Responsibility and Future Orientation in SEE" http://www.glocha.info/iaai/images/stories/proposel-initiative.pdf, a Roma Futures Song World Cup (in the context of Decade of Roma Inclusion 2005-2015).

Thanks once again to all who have contributed to the success of "350 Climate Protection Song World Cup 2009" (in additions to the musicians thanky go also to Simon and Matej of Institute for Electronic Participation in Ljubljana for setting up and managing the voting site, Gorazd for managing the IAAI homepage and Judit for being our liaison person to 350.org).

Let us continue in 2010 our joint efforts to united the world in effective music and knowledge based responses to the climate change challenge.

This is the voting site of the initiative „350 Climate Protection Song World Cup“.

350 Climate Protection Song World Cup“ is an invitation to musician to contribute to global climate protection efforts by using means of artistic expression and the power of music to show leadership regarding global social responsibility related to the climate change challenge.

350 Climate Protection Song World Cup“ is organized by

  • International Association for the Advancement of Innovative Approaches to Global Challenges IAAI Vienna - Ljubljana“ (a NGO established in 2007 to promote and co-ordinate globally innovative approaches to global challenges, www.glocha.info/iaai/) through a "Global Challenges World Cup / Climate Protection World Cup" system www.glocha.info/iaai/index.php/glocha-initative.
  • 350.org campaign (350.org is an international campaign dedicated to building a movement to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis – focussing on the number 350 as in parts per million, the level scientists have identified as the safe upper limit for CO2 in our atmosphere and
  • Institute for Electronic Participation (INePA) which has helped us in programming this internet based voting system through which anybody in the world can participate in identifying the next “350 Climate protection Song World Cup winner(s)”.
  • “Global Music Project” http://globalmusicproject.org/ from Seattle (Global Music Project, a 501(c)(3) organization, represents a collaborative international network of music fans, artists, progressive businesses, social activists, event promoters, and others who believe in the power of music to attract, educate, and inspire humanity to participate in making a better world)

350 Climate Protection Song World Cup 2009“ is the first implementation and some kind of “Pilot Round” of “Global Challenges Song World Cup”.

Voting is open till 31st of December 2009 24.00 CET.

Winners will be announced Monday January 4th 2010 12.00 AM CET on this homepage and www.glocha.info/glocha350/.
